Liability Waiver


By agreeing to this form I agree to this waiver of liability and assumption of risk. I waive any and all claims I may have now and in the future, and release from all liability and agree not to sue Airport Direct or its staff members for any personal injury, death, property damage, or loss sustained by me as a result of my participation in a bus fare offered by Airport Direct due to any cause whatsoever, including without limitation, negligence on the part of Airport Direct, its staff, tour partners, or other participants, or death or injury as a result of war, civil unrest or epidemic. I further agree that if I violate this agreement and attempt to bring suit against any part of parties named herein, that I will be held responsible for attorney’s fees and any costs incurred by that person in defending such action.


I am aware that the services offered include the usual dangers and risks of being in an automobile some of which include: weather extremes subject to sudden and unexpected change. I accept the inherent risks of the proposed transfer and the possibility of personal injury, death or property damage or loss resulting there from.


I agree that if I suffer injury or illness Airport Direct or its staff can, at my cost, arrange any medical treatment and emergency evacuation service as they deem necessary for my health and safety. Further, I agree at all times during the transfer, to abide by and comply with any additional instructions given by my driver or any other staff and I accept that non-compliance may result in injury, death or permanent disability. I understand that non-compliance may result in my removal from the bus.


Customer understands and acknowledges that the transfer involves transportation by motor vehicle, including, but not limited to shuttle, van or bus transportation. Customer acknowledges and understands the inherent risks associated with these methods of transportation and acknowledges that customer does not have any medical condition(s) that would prevent customers from using these methods of transportation or result in any injury or harm to customers as a result of using these methods of transportation. While Customer understands and agrees that Airport Direct will exercise ordinary and reasonable care in the operation of any motor vehicle used for conveyance on the transfer, customer understands that Airport Direct assumes no responsibility, nor does it grant any express or implied warranties relating to other third parties, including other drivers of motor vehicles.


Customer agrees and acknowledges that Airport Direct shall not be responsible or liable for any loss, theft or damage whatsoever to any personal property brought on the transfer by the customer, which may occur on or during the transfer. Customer hereby expressly waives any claim which customer, customer’s heirs, successors, assigns, spouse, family members, or legal representatives may have against Airport Direct arising from or as a result of any such loss, theft or damage. It is therefore understood that all personal property that customer brings on the transfer is brought at customer’s sole risk and is the customer’s sole responsibility.


I agree to grant the sponsors of this transfer to a worldwide, royalty-free license to use my photographic, video, or digital likeness solely for promotional, educational, and/or commercial purposes. Customer hereby gives full consent to Airport Direct to use and publish customer’s likeness on advertisements, and acknowledges that Airport Direct does not compensate guests in any manner for the use of images in any of the following: photographs, images, drawings and renderings, and for the use of including but not limited to: Airport Direct website, brochures, advertisements, bulletins, media releases, newspaper and magazine articles, and any other form of promotion, information and publication, both print and digital.
As a participant on the transfer, I accept full responsibility for my behavior, well being, and health throughout the transfer I knowingly and willfully accept any risk. I agree to hold neither Airport Direct nor its staff, or facility liable in any way should any harm come to me. 


In entering this Waiver and Release, I am not relying on any oral, written nor visual representations or statements by Airport Direct or its staff or any other inducement or coercion to go on the transfer. I confirm that, by my own free will, I have read and understood the Terms and Conditions transfer or event and Waiver and Release and agree that this Waiver and Release will be binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and successors.

These terms and conditions are applicable to all customers using Airport Direct’s services and to the information and services available through this website https://airportdirect.is/. The terms and conditions may be updated without notice to you. If you do not agree with these terms and conditions we advise you not to use our services or website. In using this website you agree to be legally bound by the terms of this policy. 

Privacy

In order to provide our customers with the possibility to purchase products online we need to collect basic information about our customers through this website including name, e-mail address, contact information, gender etc. Airport Direct will not share any personal information outside of the company.

Liability  

Airport Direct is not liable for inaccurate information on this website due to technical difficulties or software problems. Airport Direct reserves the right to change itineraries or time schedules without prior warning, should the necessity arise. No liability is accepted for losses or expenses due to delays or changes of arrival or departure of flights or other services, injury, sickness, accident, strikes, damage, negligence, weather, war or other causes outside the control of Airport Direct. All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the traveller.  Seats cannot be guaranteed unless reserved or booked. Airport Direct service is available from selected hotels and guesthouses.

Airport Direct acknowledges that travelling bags are designed to protect their contents. In the course of normal handling your baggage may show evidence of wear and tear. Airport Direct takes neither responsibility for minor cuts, scratches and dents nor for items that protrude from traveling bags, such as retractable handles, wheels, straps and luggage carts. Airport Direct won’t be liable for any lost luggage. Passengers are advised to put their own luggage in the hold of the bus if they carry luggage that needs to be handled especially carefully. Passengers are advised to fully insure their luggage before travelling.

Prices  

Tours and services are dependant on currency fluctuation and conditions of cooperative partners that may provide transportation and other services. 

Passenger responsibilities

Ticket: Upon receiving the ticket, passengers must check the ticket for errors. If any errors are visible on the ticket it must be brought to the attention of Airport Direct ́s sales- and service personnel as soon as possible. Passengers must have the ticket available for inspection when travelling. 

Arrival at the Airport: Airport Direct advises passengers to be at the Airport no less than 3 hours before flight departure. Passengers who do not allow 3 hours between bus arrival and flight departure, do so at their own risk. Airport Direct is not liable for any delays due to heavy traffic, accidents, weather or any other road conditions.

Correct service: Passengers are responsible for making sure they board the correct service with the correct service provider as well as getting off at the right destination.

Flexible ticket / Flight delay guarantee: For guaranteed transportation in case of flight-delay we strongly advise customers to purchase a flexible ticket when booking Economy service or a flight delay guarantee when booking our Premium service. If customers do not have a flexible ticket or a flight delay guarantee and miss their booked transportation due to flight-delay or other reasons, customers must purchase a new ticket for transportation.

Arrival at boarding point: Passengers must be ready at boarding point at least 10 minutes prior to departure time. 

Arrival at pick-up location: Passengers must be ready at pick-up location when pick-up starts (30 minutes prior to departure time). Passengers are responsible for providing Airport Direct with correct contact information so that Airport Direct can contact passengers in case of any changes in itineraries or if any unforeseen circumstances arise and there is a need to contact passengers.

Bus restrictions: Due to bus restrictions downtown Reykjavík set by the city, our buses may not be able to stop right outside your chosen accommodation, in those cases our buses stop at the nearest bus stop. Passengers may need to walk a short distance due to this.

Seatbelts: You are required by law to wear a seatbelt at all times whilst travelling in an automobile. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that they comply with this requirement.

Behavior: Airport Direct reserves the right to decline customers from transport, remove them from the coach and cancel tickets without any refund if they show threatening, abusive, illegal or any other behaviour that can cause discomfort for other passengers and/or Airport Direct ́s employees. If necessary Airport Direct will involve police or other security operator.

Food & beverages: Kindly limit consumption of food to “snack type foods” (candy, chips, cookies etc.). Only beverages in covered containers are allowed on board.

Change of bus: In the event of change of bus, passengers are responsible for taking their luggage and any items they may have brought with them to the next bus.

Airport Direct ́s responsibilities

Our obligation: It is our obligation to carry our passengers and their permitted luggage as promised. We will make reasonable efforts to carry you safely and comfortably. Airport Direct can in unforeseen circumstances, hire a replacement coach and/or driver from a third party. These replacement coaches may not offer the same facilities as our normal fleet. Airport Direct will not offer any reimbursement in these cases.

Children: Children under the age of 14 should be accompanied by adults when travelling. Airport Direct reserves the right to refuse unaccompanied children travel. Children and teenagers may be asked for a valid proof of age. 

Child Seat:  Icelandic law mandates that children must use child car-seats when travelling in a car. If travelling with a child make sure to add a child seat to your booking at no extra charge. Please specify the weight and age of the child in question.
We have two child seats available depending on the weight of the child:
Option 1: 0-13 kg
Option 2: 14-36 kg

Animals: Airport Direct will not carry animals except trained assistance dogs. 

Payments  

Airport Direct accepts the following methods of payments.  Website Credit cards from Mastercard & Visa. There is no charge or service fee for processing credit card payments when tours or services are purchased on our website airportdirect.is  Sales department Credit cards from Mastercard & Visa. Ticket offices Credit cards from Mastercard, Visa, American Express. Payment will be listed as Airport Direct on the credit or debit card statement.  

Cancellations  

All cancellations must be made in writing and should be sent to info@airportdirect.is. If for any reason it is not possible for you to send us your cancellation via email, please contact us by phone (+354 497-8000). Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to tour departure will be charged in full. Please note that other cancellation policies may apply if you have made your reservation through a third party.  

Refunds  

Tours purchased on www.airportdirect.is are refunded when requested at least 24 hours prior to departure. Once a tour or service has started no refunds are available.  For tours purchased through travel agencies, please take your original voucher to the travel agency and they will issue a full refund after reconfirmation the tour cancellation with our office.  

Warranties  

While Airport Direct strives to provide accurate information the website may contain inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information. Airport Direct takes no responsibility for errors or omissions in the content of the website, and makes no commitment to update such information.  Airport Direct shall not be liable for any damages relating to the use of, or reliance upon, the website or such information, features, material or services.  

Luggage

Permitted luggage: Included in the base price is one 23 kg baggage and one carry on as well as a small piece of soft hand luggage. Passengers can request a booking for additional luggage, permit is subject to available space.


Odd Size Baggage: If travelling with bicycles, skis, golf sets, or any other odd size baggage you can book our Economy service. Make sure to book online beforehand to save time. 
Packaged and unpackaged bicycles can be transported with our Economy service. For maximum efficiency in the luggage compartment, it is preferred to have them packed in boxes. If unpackaged, then the pedals must be removed and the chain covered. Additional luggage will be loaded as space allows and is subject to additional charges.
*Booking a piece of odd size luggage is not available when booking our Premium service do to lack of space
